Rizzo Returns

I'm not sure how it happened but it was like a building imploding in on itself. After two years of working on sometimes over a dozen different Rizzo strips a week for over twenty newspapers, Sean and I had the Lennon/McCartney moment we had predicted since the first virtual fist fight. We didn't speak to each other for over a year. Rizzo, the strip, limped along in the few newspapers that still published it after the economic slowdown of 2007, and then it fizzled into a strange kind of hibernation. Sean and I reconnected over the phone enough to smooth things over, but we didn't talk about Rizzo. Without Rizzo there really wasn't much to talk about. Then the ball dropped on 2011 and I streamed a not so rotten B-grade Sci-Fi flick called Eyeborgs to kill a couple hours after the kids had gone to bed. My jaw dropped when I saw that the eyeborgs in Eyeborgs (2009) were identical to a roving webcam character that Sean and I had created together in 2006 for a different strip called Squirrelosophy. I sent him .jpgs of the little beasties in the movie.

He sent me back a new Rizzo. I thought, "Okay, I'm in." I sent some scripts and the Rizzo ball begins to roll anew.
